Welcome to this month's news inspirer on the Essence of Spring.

Spring is here again! Passing are the days of hibernating, warm in winter layers and early to bed. Now we can wake with the morning light, feeling new life springing into our hearts. Thoughts of possibilities and hopes are mirrored in nature's own expression of new beginnings.

I find nature and this time of year fascinating. Watching the first few changes, seeing the growth from the nurturing light of the sun and the spring rain. Each adding to what is needed, to shape the early growth of young seeds, in order to reach their full potential. So much goes unseen as the earth is made moist, the atmosphere warmed and before you know it, flowers are in colourful bloom and trees are fully dressed in a ray of green leaves.

It is inspiring to see the beauty that comes from
nature's ability to care for itself.
You have the same ability!

I'm encouraged by this season of new life. Seeing how nature organically tends to itself, mirrors the importance of the personal responsibility we have to mother our own growth. For without the sun, flowers can not bloom and without tending to our inner life, things will always stay the same.

Q. What is it that you want or need to nurture in your life?

Q. Do you need to plant a new seed or tend to an old one, perhaps one of your new year resolutions?

Nourishing (parts of) yourself may take self discipline, care, attention and consistency. You may be busy, perhaps overwhelmed by the idea of having to 'do'. However, the effect and time is worth it, because you are. By taking time you will see that you have all the resources inside and around you to support what you need to do and how you can do it.

Q. What inner outer resources can help nourish you?

Begin somewhere. Small changes lead to bigger ones. Nothing changes overnight, as the saying goes: 'Rome wasn't built in a day'. You may need to change a negative thought, make more time for yourself or your family and so on. It is important to set yourself realistic goals, that are manageable. Then you will feel able to accomplish what you have set out to do.

Your best is going to change from moment to moment;
it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick.
Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse, and regret.

Q. What steps do you need to take?
Q. What is the first step?
Q. Is it realistic?

If you want things to change, then you must be your own sunlight and water your inner garden. Prune the unwanted negative patterns and give extra care to the ones that are full of potential.

If you do what you've always done,
you'll get what you've always gotten.
